Add Lightning Paywall to your blog post
The Lightning Paywall can be included in any post or page on WordPress. Editors like Elementor, WPBakery (formerly Visual Composer) or Gutenberg are usually used to edit the posts. With the most common editors, each post can be paywalled with one click.
For all other editors, a paywall can be included via shortcode at the appropriate place in the blog post.
Here we present the application possibilities depending on the editor:
WPBakery (formerly Visual Composer)
The editor WPBakery has the possibility that the Lightning Paywall elements are included as a block in the text.
This works the same way you edit your pages and blog posts with WPBakery.
You write the preview text that the reader can read before the paywall is displayed.
To include the paywall click on the plus sign and the element list of WPBakery will be displayed.
In the Content section or via the search you can find the Lightning Paywall elements which start with LP.
Click on LP Start Paid Content
Enable the payment block.
The paywall must be started at the beginning with LP Start Paid Content and ended at the end with LP End paid content.
Insert also LP END Paid Content
Outside the text block and further down the page, there is another editing option for the Lightning Paywall.
Here you can change the global settings for the individual post.
For example, you can set a different price.
If you want to keep the settings as they are in the general settings, you do not need to make any changes here.
Add Lightning Paywall Element in Elementor
If you use the Elementor editor, you can add elements to your text.
For this purpose you can use Add Elements.
You can find Lightning Paywall Elements in the Search or in the General section.
The element to open the payment block is called “LP Start Paid Content“.
To close the payment block, you need to add the “LP End Paid Content” element.
Gutenberg Editor is the free editor on WordPress. The editor is also called Block Editor, because individual blocks can be added.
If you have the Lightning Paywall installed, you will find the Lightning Paywall blocks that perform the Lightning Paywall functions.
You can search for Lightning Paywall within the block search and get the available Lightning Paywall blocks displayed.
The Lightning Paywall blocks begin with LP for Lightning Paywall.
You can also find the Lightning Paywall blocks under the Widgets category.
If the Lightning Paywall blocks have been selected correctly, the created page will look something like this:
In addition, the Lightning paywall still needs to be enabled for the page.
To do this, scroll to the bottom of the page to the Essential Grid section.
Here you have to check the box “Enable Lightning Paywall”.
The price and duration can be customized for this post. If no changes are made here, the values from the General Settings are used.
